Our Story (with some comic relief)

It all began in January of 2003, when we first got KC. He came from a broken home and had almost nowhere to go and he was already 1.5 years old. He was a phone call away from Weim Rescue. A friend asked if we'd be interested in a Weimaraner and we said "yes". That started it all. We spent hours on end researching Weims and discovering how mischievous they could be, how little did we know. Not to mention, when we got KC he was already 1.5 years old and needed some serious attention and training. As it turns out, we were house #3 for him. We started training as soon as he arrived and did so for the next 2 months. Only 2 months you ask, you trained a Weim in 2 months? NO!

Two months later, March '03, Chelsea arrived! It seems while KC was being help captive in his previous home he managed to breed their female Weim. Chelsea was his daughter and the last of the puppies that need to be placed in a home. How could we resist? So now we had a 1.5 yro Weim and an 8 week old puppy to train. It turned out to be a move for the betterment of KC. He calmed down tremendously, but we still had some issues to contend with. With the help of Chelsea, little did she know, we trained both of them into loving dogs. Chelsea was a handful herself though. She required multiple feedings and midnight potty breaks, no one slept for about 1.5 months. Things inside the house moved along rather quickly as did some furniture, ever seen 2 Weims play?

During the last 1.5 years things have gone pretty smoothly, we've raised 2 wonderful Weims and have had lots of fun along the way. We've enjoyed many neighborhood walks and even been camping. We've acknowledged the fact that we do not own Weims, they own us. They have allowed us to come into their lives as participants on a 'grand ride'. (BTW, as I sit here and write this page, it's 4AM, Chelsea is asleep at my feet, drooling on my toes - just thought I would share that with you.) We've given up all hope of ever having a green lawn again, it is now the official Weim Race Track & Dustbowl. Who said you needed a goat? We've survived sneak attacks on our toes, had our legs knocked from underneath us by 100 MPH speeding (in the house) Weims, practically installed a swimming pool in the kitchen (Weim owners can relate) and have enjoyed the simplest pleasure of lying down with a Weim next to us.

It's now October 2004, almost 2 years since our first Weim encounter. Guess what? We get Weim #3, Jackson. Two is a crowd, but 3 is a party! Jackson has some issues and we like a challenge..... To Be Continued..... Sorry, hate to leave you mid-story, but Jackson just got here.

And by the way, we're:

Eric & Jimmy
