For small pets (cats, guinea pigs, rabbits) use half the adult dosage For birds, fowl and rodents - place 2 drops in their drinking water and replace with fresh water dosed again daily. Some Preventative Measures Check pet regularly for fleas and worms. Fleas can cause anaemia in your pet, and worms bring about weight loss and a staring coat. There are no flower essences that treat these last two complaints although an excellent cure for fleas in cats and dogs is brewer's yeast (obtainable from a chemist) - the fleas do not like the taste! Can be used all year round: Dosages: Adult dosage for large animals, half dosage for small dogs, and for cats. Excessive thirst may indicate either diabetes or kidney trouble. Seek veterinary advice. Use warm salt water to dress small cuts and abrasions - an excellent disinfectant. The homeopathic preparation - HYPERCAL - can be topically applied for pain relief and wound healing. Available from most chemists. Keep your pet's food as organic as possible - pets are susceptible to junk food ailments too! Check your pet's teeth regularly - lack of desire to eat can often indicate gum or tooth disease. Bad breath can indicate the presence of worms - seek the vets advice. Do not overfeed lettuce to rabbits - they cannot digest the cellulose. Any change in habits, moods or behaviour may indicate that the animal is unwell. Monitor closely and seek the vets advice if concern increases. Copyright (1997) : Sally Hamilton Shamanka : Spirit of the Kingdoms
