Rid of Fleas and Ticks Homeopathy HOW DO I GET RID OF FLEAS? HOW DO I PREVENT HEARTWORM? First let me preface this outline for parasite control by saying, A HEALTHY ANIMAL THAT IS IN BALANCED ACUPUNCTURE ENERGY, HAS PROPER NUTRITION (NOT COMMERCIAL PET FOOD), and THAT HAS BEEN DETOXIFIED OF CHEMICALS, DRUGS, PESTICIDES AND TOO FREQUENT VACCINATIONS WILL NOT HAVE A FLEA PROBLEM AND WILL BE HEALTHIER IF NOT GIVEN THE HEARTWORM PREVENTATIVE. FLEAS A healthy animal has very few fleas, and those that are on the skin will not cause skin eruptions, redness, hair loss and severe itching. This develops with an impaired immune system and one that has been sensitized with multiple flea exposure. So it is obvious that prevention is a lot better than the cure. But in the interim before getting your pet back to good health, what do you do about the fleas, especially if the fleas are also biting you? Adult fleas are parasites that derive their nourishment from the blood of mammals and birds. Fleas prefer locations where dust and organic debris accumulate. They are commonly found in houses, under buildings, in yards and on pets. A treatment that is effective for controlling the flea must do so at all four stages of the flea's life cycle: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. The reproductive process of a flea begins after the female flea ingests a blood meal. After mating, she will lay a few eggs daily until several hundred have been deposited. These generally fall from the hosts hair coat and hatch in the ground, carpet, upholstery or cracks in the floor. The eggs hatch from two days to several weeks, into larvae. This stage lasts from 9 days to several months. The larva spins a cocoon and pupates from 7-14 days then emerges as an adult that promptly hops on your pet if near by. Control must be aimed at three zones: the pet, house and yard. If no visible signs of fleas on your pet is apparent, part the fur down to the skin and search for flea "dirt" which appear as tiny black grains. Scratch the animal at the base of the tail and feel for gritty particles; or place the pet in a damp bathtub and ruffle the coat. If little red or pink drops are apparent on the surface of the water, this is evidence of a flea problem. These red drops are "flea dirt"; (flea dirt is the bowel movements of the flea and are processed red blood cells from your pet), the test is positive for fleas. Some of the non-toxic methods I recommend for flea control are: TO KILL FLEAS 1.Natural insecticides Pyrethrum extracted from the Chrysanthemum flower are available in the form of pet sprays, dips, room foggers and yard sprays, as well as in pet shampoos. We have a nice pyrethrum-only flea and tick spray made by Adams, (please refer to item list in electronic store). All three zones must be treated together, initially. Then maintenance can be attained by spot pet spray as needed. Do not use products that have combinations with organo-phosphate pesticide chemicals such as Carbaryl, Lindane or Malathion etc., nor IN A PETROLEUM based medium, but one that is in alcohol. These are toxic! 2.Diatomaceous earth specially formulated for pet use and found in the plant nurseries under the name Earthguard can be applied to yard, carpet, furniture and animal's coat. 3.Flea combs are handy in short haired pets. The tines (teeth) of the comb are smaller than the size of the flea's body and the flea is caught on the tines of the comb as you comb thro the coat of your pet, and the flea can be quickly disposed of by thumbnail pressure, or wrapped in tissue and flushed down the toilet. HEARTWORM PREVENTION I do not recommend drug treatment prevention. It makes no sense to me to poison the animal's blood with a chemical in order to kill the microfilaria of the heartworm when injected by the carrier mosquito. That animal's poisoned bloodstream is carried to the brain, and every organ in the body. What do you think is happening to those organs over time? I have seen sick dogs that could not get well until I cleansed them of their heartworm medication. Prevention: build a strong EMF with my healing halter, fresh diet, and spray your pet with my non-toxic Adam's Flea and Tick spray during mosquito season. See suggestions for Flea Repellant. TICKS It is important to control ticks and prevent them from biting you and your pet. Ticks feed on blood and can transmit diseases to both of you, including Lyme's Disease, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and Tularemia. To avoid ticks, wear light colored clothing and tuck trouser cuffs in socks, apply an insect repellent (Adams Non-Toxic Flea and Tick Spray) to both yourself and your pet. Keep your pet on a leash. Carefully remove attached ticks immediately (we sell a marvelous spoon-like device, "Ticked Off" spoon, that you can remove the entire tick, head and all without ever touching the tick, which is important if the tick is infected with these diseases). Ticked Off For People and Pets Its that simple WE GUARANTEE IT !! TO REPELL FLEAS l. Eucalyptus leaves and buttons can be sprinkled throughout the house and in the pet's bed, collars made from the fresh buttons (fruit of the Eucalyptus tree) can be laced on a leather thong. 2.Brewers Yeast-- to improve the health of your pet and give the skin an unpleasant taste to the flea (but it takes at least 1 month administration). Give your pet the following dosage: cats and toy breed; ½ teaspoon daily in food medium sized dogs 1 teaspoon daily in food large dogs 1-2 tablespoon daily in food 3. Kyolic (a specially processed prepared concentrate of liquid garlic) that improves health by gentle detoxification of the body, and also imparts an unpleasant taste to the skin to the flea. Same dosage as for Brewer's Yeast. See electronic store for ordering. 4. Use of quartz crystals in your pet's drinking water. The piezoelectric energy field of the quartz crystals energize the water molecules which when consumed increase the strength and balance of your pet's electromagnetic energy field (EMF). A strong EMF is protective to your pet's organs and immune system from disease and parasites. Please refer to my newsletter #5, "The Body's Bio-Electric Force and Its Basis For Healing," and many of the beautiful inexpensive quartz crystals for your pet's water bowl in the electronic store. Many times many or all of these procedures must be employed to control fleas especially when the pet is one that is allowed to wander and meet other animals that are sources of reinfestation. TO PREVENT FLEAS , TICKS , HEARTWORM Ultimately the parasite problem is an indicator that the pet's health is impaired in some manner, and this should be a red flag to you, the pet owner, to do something about it. Look to his diet; are you feeding a natural, non-commercial diet as outlined in my newsletter #4, "Your Pet's Diet"? Perhaps he has a low-grade toxicity from too many yearly vaccination boosters, past use of antibiotics, steroids, toxic flea products, or exposure to noxious energy fields in the home and yard? Does he need a boost in orthomoleculars- nutrient, vitamin mineral and antioxidant supplements? There are a number of causes and advice for treating and preventing these problems that you can learn about in my newsletters and tapes, which can help you, help your pet. Energy medicine works! My dogs rarely have fleas, and I live in one of the most flea-infested valleys in California. They have never had chemical heartworm prevention. http://www.everglo-naturalvet.com/rid_fleas_1.htm
